Hi Yogis,

 

My name is Katie, and I love yoga.  I have been practicing yoga asana, the moving meditation practice (1 out of 8 limbs of yoga) for around 15 years.  Going to yoga forced me to slow down and breathe.  I always left class feeling so peaceful.  Around 5 years ago I slowly started practicing the other 7 limbs of yoga.  Yoga has taught me how to be present, compassionate, understanding, and patient. Yoga has not only transformed my body, but it has taught me how to find peace within myself. Practicing yoga helps me in many ways, and that is why I teach. To share the knowledge, to spread the love.

 

My yoga journey began in Fredericton N.B. which is where I am from.  When I moved to Whistler in 2016, my practice turned into my passion.  I started working at YYoga in 2018.  I did my 200 Hour Teacher Training and 50 Hour Hot Yoga Teacher Training through YYoga in Vancouver. I studied under Jasmina Egeler, Mari Dickey, Rachel Scott, Lisa Swanson, and Hillary Keegan.

Off the mat you could find me walking the valley trail, meditating by the river, skiing the slopes, riding my bike, paddling the lake, travelling the globe, or at home either hanging in my hammock, or chilling on the couch.
